BUILDING BRIDGES FOR THE GOSPEL
Contextualizing Christianity and projecting the realities of Christ incarnationally into cultural reality is the formidable task of the church today. Determining effective means of navigating the distinctive gap that exists between Christ’s tangible expression and cultural configurations is the essential function of apologetic motion that connects divergent communities. The pervasive force of pluralistic form creates a primary cause of consideration in today’s world. This is particularly true when various worldviews clash in conflict within a governmental cultural expression. National understandings of corporate identity no longer require conformity to status quo imagery.Rather, a polymeric morph is infinitely appropriate in conventional representation.
Problematic issues surface in this paradigm however, when value equations are expressed or experienced between sub-cultures within the greater umbrella of belonging and being amidst the variations that can conceivably exist.Toleration and acceptance is the desired format of optimum compatibility when conflict erupts regarding oppositional belief systems that enforce activity. Communicating the need for acceptance of alternative consideration is the task of the sub-cultural community’s ideologies. In order for the Great Commission to be affective, the church must by necessity acquiesce to the function that finds points of relevant contact between the cultural expressions and exploit them. This operative reality is the determinative factor in efficient presentation of the Gospel’s truthfulness.
Gospel realities address the intellectual, moral and cultural barriers that divide people groups, when given adequate consideration. As cultural knowledge is acquired, communicative bridges are made possible through the significant means of empathetic existence. In order to achieve this measure of facilitating an air of openness and sympathy, isolationist attitudes need to be jettisoned. Enriched interaction leads to an understanding and interfacing between divergent groupings of cultural variations.
The separation of church and state may be a necessary advancement in order to mitigate powers corruptible influence among politically active churchmen and atheist alike, keeping polar opposites at bay, subjugating the ability to subordinate one over the other. Separation of churchmen in pietistic lifestyles and culture is an entirely different matter. Culture needs to embrace the inculcation of the churchmen’s influence and vice-versa. Interchange of thoughts and convictions in healthy critical exchange forces self-determinative evaluations to be undertaken.Significant weaknesses in cultural identification can be aborted as truth bridges are erected for the Gospel’s advancement.
Forming bridges of the communicative variety is exactly what God thought needed to exist. Eternality was formally articulated incarnationally. That which stood between God and man as barrier has been efficiently removed exposing mankind to the essential means of fulfillment in an everlasting variety. Contextual understanding of purpose and meaning within the matrix of human experience is achievable through the correct assessment of this vocative expression known as Jesus Christ, Son of God, The Word made tangible and present.

Hey Bill, glad to make your acquaintance! I’ve been reading a little bit from your blog. Looking forward to reading more.
To answer your question, I haven’t been in a Vineyard church. Though my brother ‘converted’ to ‘vineyardism’ when he met his wife, because she was a member. But I have Methodist, Episcopal, Presbyterian, Baptist, and Emergent churches in my past. Seems eclectic enough!
Hope to see you around, and looking forward to sharing more with you. God bless and happy blogging!
