EVANGELIZING POSTMODERNS
Postmodernisms most significant challenge is found in the confusing verbal denial that formulates the primal postulations of this social construct. Relational formulations have attempted the impossibly mundane: deconstruct reality while conversely recreating a new paradigm whereby that which is knowable is attained. This ability to reconstitute propositions is not a denial of viabilities potential. Rather, it is perceived as the need to allow a new model to emerge that instills value into the milieu that exists in a society that extols plurality as a necessary form of presentation. Languages ever changing boundaries are an essential component that militates this shifting equation of communicative analysis. Reticent amiable compliance to the equivocal value of metanarrational communiqués has cause the emergence of the mini-narration to superimpose its transient necessities upon the communal tales primary expressive potentiality.
This transvaluation has created a social upheaval that borders on neurotic behavior. Questioning purpose and value is normative in this new equation with good reason. Postmodernisms dubious approach to those who preceded them, particularly in the post-baby boom era, is founded on a narcissistic view of reality. The modern scourge of Abortion on demand has produced a generation that understands the tenuous nature of reality. For almost thirty years in America, a generation exists that easily could not have. Actualities possibility was predicated upon potentialities acceptance. Relativism has found fertile ground in this absurd methodological approach to human value. It is no small wonder that individualistic approaches to existent promise have been supplanted with communal appropriation. Postmoderns devolving behaviorally into the pre-modern tribalistic views of survivability and inter-connectivity are clearly defined suppositions from this vantage point. These intransigent morphs into a cathartic nihilism of absurd proportions present the Gospel adherent with profound possibilities for new portals of connectivity to be formulated however.
Humanity may perceive individual value as a negotiable option that does not comport to modern sensibilities, but this is not the view of the divine. God became existentially one of the many, individually, with the express purpose of making sense of that which is nonsensical. Through active demonstrations of authentic incarnational realities, the gulf between human suffering and questionable considerations and God may be traversed. Communal extravagancies of the Christian soul can provide meaning and purpose to those who live in the debilitating complex forces of passive acquiescence to subjective emotionally binding influences.
Opaque transparencies are the necessary foundations that will allow the transmission of Gospel truth. Deconstruction of theological inconsistencies in thought and practice that cause a blurred view of Christ should be practically implemented. It is through the concerted efforts of an empowered Christian community that operates in tandem that postmoderns will see what their doubts allow: a meaningful existence that facilitates honest appraisals of inconsistent representations.
